Devexperts has named Rainer Fuchsluger, a veteran of LSEG, Wolters Kluwer, SS&C and Thomson Reuters, as global group CEO, succeeding Ben Hurley — one of nine senior appointments across trading desks, market infrastructure and advisory this week.

Fuchsluger brings more than 25 years in financial software, market data, exchange technology and market infrastructure. In the new role he will oversee expansion across the investment and trading lifecycle, strengthen the DXtrade and dxFeed businesses, and advance the firm's cloud and AI capabilities — technology choices that directly shape broker and buy-side platform decisions.

What changes at the trading desks?

Citadel Securities has promoted Margot Dijkstra to head of client equities trading for EMEA. Based in London, she takes expanded responsibilities after five years with the electronic market maker, where she served as a systematic trader. She joined Citadel Securities in 2021 after more than three years at Quantlab Group in Amsterdam.

HSBC has elevated Tom Zhang to head of Asia FX trading, Americas, expanding his remit at the bank's New York operations. Zhang joined HSBC in 2022 as an emerging-markets FX Asia trader after seven years at Barclays, where he rose from analyst to vice president in EMFX Asia trading. He will now oversee market making, liquidity provision, risk management and trading strategy across Asian, Middle Eastern and Eastern European currencies — a key segment of HSBC's institutional FX business in the Americas.

Eric Johnston has been named head of equities at O'Connor and chief market strategist for Cantor Fitzgerald Asset Management. Previously Cantor's chief equity and macro strategist, he will oversee the equity long/short strategy, help build the equity capital markets franchise, and join the multi-strategy alpha fund's Capital Allocation Committee. Earlier in his career he headed Americas equity trading at Deutsche Bank and cash-equity trading at Barclays. The move follows Cantor's acquisition of UBS O'Connor and its push to grow the platform's equities business.

What does the buy side gain?

Violaine Ferrandez has joined Marshall Wace as a trader in London, moving to the buy side after six years at Citi. Most recently vice president in electronic equity sales trading, she also held analyst and assistant vice president roles at the bank — bringing sell-side electronic equities execution experience directly into the hedge fund's trading operations.

SimCorp has appointed Emma Watson senior principal sales manager, focused on collateral management and securities finance. Based in London, she reports to Oliver Neumann, vice president of Global Commercial. Watson joins from consultancy Tonic, where she spent more than two years as a director, and brings nearly three decades of experience: 17 years at J.P. Morgan — most recently as executive director and markets post-trade transformation programme manager — plus roles at ASX, Credit Suisse and Chase Manhattan.

What is happening in market infrastructure?

Clearstream has appointed John Southgate director of business development within its Collateral, Lending and Liquidity Solutions division. Based in London, he will oversee business development for the sovereign and supranational segment and report to James Cherry, head of business development and trading. Southgate brings more than 25 years in collateral services, repo, securities lending and prime brokerage, including senior positions at Citi and Northern Trust, as Clearstream expands its collateral and liquidity services.

Daniel J. Davis has been promoted to president of Connamara Technologies as the trading-infrastructure provider extends its reach in emerging financial marketplaces. Davis joined as head of growth in 2022 and became chief revenue officer in 2025; earlier he held strategy and development positions at PIMCO and Dimensional Fund Advisors. Connamara is broadening adoption of its EP3 exchange, clearing and surveillance platform across prediction markets, tokenized assets, crypto and other trading venues.

Houlihan Lokey has hired Jane Ma as a managing director in its Financial Services Group. Ma joins from Moelis & Company, where she spent 16 years, most recently as a managing director covering asset management, wealth management and related technology businesses. She will focus primarily on alternative asset managers while advising wealth-management firms and fintechs.

The common thread across the nine moves: firms are consolidating execution, collateral and infrastructure expertise at the senior level. Expect further senior appointments as platforms like Cantor's expanded O'Connor and Connamara's EP3 push into new asset classes.
