OTCX Execution Goes Live Inside BlackRock's Aladdin
OTCX Trading has gone live inside BlackRock's Aladdin, opening FIX-based IRS price discovery, RFM, execution and post-trade for mutual clients in phase one.

Execution notes
- OTCX Trading Limited launched its integration with BlackRock's Aladdin platform, the first milestone of a partnership announced in October 2025.
- Phase one covers interest rate swaps: price discovery, request-for-market workflows, execution, and post-trade processing for mutual clients.
- The integration runs over FIX connectivity and preserves access to dealer liquidity; later phases and asset classes remain undated.
OTCX Trading Limited has gone live with its integration into BlackRock's Aladdin platform, completing the first phase of a technology partnership the two firms announced in October 2025. Institutional users on both systems can now reach OTCX's electronic execution capabilities for interest rate swaps directly from Aladdin.
The scope of phase one is specific. Mutual clients get access to OTCX for price discovery, request-for-market workflows, trade execution, and post-trade processing for IRS — the full workflow from pre-trade to settlement, run inside the platform many buy-side desks already use for portfolio management and risk. OTCX and BlackRock have not publicly dated subsequent phases or named the next asset classes in line.
The connection runs over FIX. That detail matters for technology teams: FIX connectivity means the integration sits within standard order-routing and workflow infrastructure rather than requiring a bespoke bridge, which typically shortens onboarding for firms already running FIX stacks against other venues and liquidity providers.
For execution desks, the practical effect is workflow consolidation. Instead of context-switching between an internal system and a separate execution channel for OTC derivatives, traders can move from price discovery through RFM to execution and post-trade processing in one place. OTCX positions this as a response to how demand has shifted: as electronic trading grows across OTC markets, investment firms want operational efficiency without giving up access to dealer liquidity. The Aladdin integration is designed to deliver both — the streamlined electronic workflow on top, dealer liquidity beneath.
What is delivered versus what remains is worth separating. Live now: IRS price discovery, request-for-market, execution, and post-trade processing for mutual clients, via FIX, announced as a completed launch rather than a pilot. Not yet delivered: integration for other OTC derivative asset classes, which the announcement frames as part of the multi-year partnership's future phases without committing to a timeline.
The October 2025 partnership announcement set the framework; this launch is the first measurable milestone against it. For OTCX, embedding execution inside Aladdin puts the venue in front of a large installed base of institutional technology rather than competing for separate screen real estate. For Aladdin users, it adds an execution destination for swaps without leaving the platform — a routing decision, not a platform migration.
Neither firm has published adoption targets, volume expectations, or a client count for the integration at this stage. The announcement states the launch; it does not yet measure it. Desks evaluating whether to route IRS flow through the Aladdin-OTCX path will want to watch for the first disclosed usage figures and for word on which asset classes phase two will bring.
The next milestone to watch is the second phase of the rollout, which the firms say will extend the integration further as the multi-year partnership progresses.
